The New Look for Butchers Row - An Arts and Crafts Haven

Stained Glass Workshop

Butcher’s Row is a row of 24 shops all under cover running along one side of the Market and named after a local butcher. Some of the original meat hooks can still be seen in the shops if you look closely. There is an eclectic mix of small shops many offering unique and locally made gifts from stained glass and art studios to sculptures in wood by John Butler and slipware jugs by Harry Juniper. In some of the shops you can watch as the craftsmen and women create their masterpieces.

Butchers' Row & Market Place is open for regular shopping six days a week all year round.  Community and Civic Events are often held in the Hall including the Annual Flower Show, Light up a Life Service (North Devon and South West Children's Hospice, 12 Dec 15, 6.00 pm) and the Signing of the Lease Ceremony (5 Dec 15, 10.30 am - free mead and mince pies are dispensed by the Mayor and Councillors)). Keep an eye out on the website for a diary of events that take place throughout the year.  Find more information about the Butcher's Row Traders...
