Bideford has been twinned with the French town of Landivisiau in Brittany since 1976. Landivisiau is situated about 25 kilometres south of the ferry port of Roscoff. Very strong links with Landivisiau have been built up over the last thirty years by the Bideford Twinning Association which organises the twinning on behalf of the Town Council.
Each year members participate in two exchange visits (one in each country) over a long weekend. These trips provide an opportunity to experience French culture whilst renewing old friendships and making new ones. The Association organises a number of social events (including a barbecue, winetasting evenings and a winter party) between trips to maintain contact with members.
The Association welcomes new members; if you are interested please contact either
Richard Holwill, Chairman, 01237 471171 or Anne Sargent, Secretary, 01237 475132.
