Bideford Town Council welcomes you to the Pollyfield Centre on 8 May 2025, to mark the historic 80th Anniversary of VE Day from 18.30. You will know the time as Bells of St Mary’s Church will ring out, lead by the Tower Captain. The Bideford Youth Pipe Band will set the scene at the Centre, Tamsin Ball will perform, joined by the Bideford Town Band playing material from the period.
The Town Crier will make a proclamation at 21.00, followed by the reading of the names of the fallen from the Borough of Bideford Roll of Honour 1939 – 1945.
The Beacon will be lit at 21.30 with a Tribute read. Immediately after the Tribute, the Town Band and Tamsin will lead and accompany everyone singing, “I vow to thee my Country.”
There will be a Buffet during the evening and CMC Productions will also provide musical support.
